This painting was inspired by a calendar given to me by my local produce store many years ago.
“The Drover,” who is an icon of Australia, is gradually fading from our Australian way of life as modern methods take over and new farm management practices are introduced. “The Drover” and his dogs take a break after travelling many miles to reach their destination…lush pasture. I endeavoured to capture the love and care “The Drover” gives to his animals whilst his flocks graze nearby. This painting typifies the loyalty reliance and companionship man has with his horse and dogs as they work together to mete out an existence to survive.
